Düzce is preparing for the upcoming Eid al-Adha. The citizens who want to sacrifice an animal are going to livestock farms or live animal markets. A 2-year-old bull, named “King,” which has been raised with great effort in a livestock farm in the city, is now up for sale for 250,000 TL ($30,000). The bull, which is the favorite of the farm, has the characteristics of a sacrificial animal and weighs around 1,400 kilograms. According to Dr. Şerif Ali Karanfil, the veterinarian, they expect a 60% meat yield from the bull, which means that it will produce about 850 kilograms of meat. Karanfil also added that the bull not only satisfies the visual pleasure of the buyers, but it also provides good meat to the market. Interested buyers can purchase the bull, which is already available for sale, at a price considered reasonable for sacrificial animals.
