42. İstanbul Film Festivali 7 Nisan’da başlıyor
42. İstanbul Film Festivali dünya sinemasının en yeni örnekleri, kült yapıtlar, usta yönetmenler ve genç yeteneklerin son filmlerinin de aralarında olduğu 134 uzun ve 29 kısa metrajlı filmden oluşan zengin programıyla festival takipçileriyle buluşuyor. Festival kapsamında 12 günde, 14 bölümde, 84 ülkeden 160 yönetmenin filmleri gösterilecek. Festivalde gösterimlerin yanı sıra konuk yönetmen ve oyuncuların katılımıyla yapılacak söyleşiler, özel gösterimler ve etkinlikler de yer alacak.
ALTI SALONDA GÖSTERİM YAPILACAK
İstanbul Film Festivali’nin bu yılki gösterimleri Beyoğlu’nda Atlas 1948 ve Fransız Kültür Merkezi, Şişli’de CineWAM Premium+ City’s Nişantaşı (Salon 3 ve Salon 7) ve Kadıköy’de Kadıköy Sineması ile Kadıköy Belediyesi Sinematek/Sinema Evi olmak üzere 6 salonda yapılacak.
Gösterimler her yıl olduğu gibi 11.00, 13.30, 16.00, 19.00 ve 21.30’da yapılacak.
FESTİVALİN AÇILIŞ FİLMİ SUNDANCE ÖDÜLLÜ SCRAPPER
42. İstanbul Film Festivali bu yıl, Sundance Film Festivali’nde Dünya Sineması-Dram kategorisinde Büyük Jüri Ödülü’nü kazanan Scrapper / Hırçın ile açılıyor. Charlotte Regan’ın yönettiği sıcak, esprili, yaratıcı, tatlı, duygusal bir baba-kız hikâyesi olan Hırçın’da baba rolünü Triangle of Sadness / Hüzün Üçgeni’nin başrolündeki Harris Dickinson canlandırıyor.
Fatma Girik’in başrolde oynadığı ‘İntikam Meleği-Kadın Hamlet’ de festival filmleri arasındaSİNEMA ONUR ÖDÜLLERİ VERİLECEK
Festival tarafından sinemaya gönül ve emek veren isimlere takdim edilen Sinema Onur Ödülleri bu sinema ve tiyatro oyuncuları, Kayhan Yıldızoğlu ile Nevra Serezli‘ye verilecek.
Ödüller, 6 Nisan gecesi düzenlenecek Açılış Töreni’nde sunulacak.

42nd Istanbul Film Festival kicks off on April 7th
The excitement is palpable as the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival gears up to kick off on April 7th. Known as one of the most prominent film events in Turkey and the region, this year’s festival promises to deliver an exceptional experience for film enthusiasts.
The festival is organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and will take place both online and physically. The festival’s film selection ranges from heavily anticipated Turkish productions to international award-winning films, which will undoubtedly contribute to the overall cinematic experience.
One of the notable sections of this year’s festival is the International Competition section, where seventeen fiction and documentary films will compete for the prestigious Golden Tulip award. The Golden Tulip is one of the most prestigious awards in Turkish cinema and awards categories include; Best film, Best director, Special Jury prize, and Best Actor and Actress.
Also, a big highlight in this year’s festival is the İstanbul Film Prize, endowed with 250.000 Turkish Liras, is awarded for the first time to support productions in Turkey. The jury consisting of leading international and national professionals in the film industry. The prize is expected to boost the Turkish film industry’s post-pandemic recovery in the upcoming years.
The festival is a celebratory feast for cinephiles, as it showcases over 180 films from 54 countries over the course of 11 days, covering everything from short films to feature-length productions, a great opportunity to catch up with what’s missing in the cinematic world since COVID-19 measures have been introduced.
The festival’s opening film is Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s new feature film “Bir Zamanlar Anadolu’da” (Once Upon A Time in Anatolia), the film explores the universal themes of justice, memory, and ultimately human nature, received the Grand Prix Award in Cannes in 2011, and is considered one of the most significant works of the Turkish director.
To ensure the safety of both guests and attendees, a series of hygiene measures are in place for the physical events. The festival’s main venues include the Atlas and Beyoğlu cinemas, giving attendees and film enthusiasts an incredibly enriching experience.
