Beşiktaş’ın takımın golcüsü Cenk Tosun, MLS takımlarından Chicago Fire’dan teklif aldığını ancak bu teklifi reddettiğini söyledi.
Kariyerini Beşiktaş’ta sürdüreceğini ifade eden Cenk Tosun, “Amerika MLS Ligi takımlarından Chicago Fire’ın teklifini geri çevirdim. Gitmek benim için iyi olabilirdi fakat ailemin düzenini bozmak istemedim. Beşiktaş’ta devam edeceğim.” açıklamasında bulundu.

Sözleşme konusuna da değinen golcü oyuncu, “Bir gol veya asist daha yapmam halinde sözleşmemdeki 1 yıllık opsiyon devreye girecek. Fakat Asbaşkanımız Emre Kocadağ ile konuştuk. Opsiyonu beklemeden yeni bir sözleşme yapacağız.” ifadelerini kullandı.
Beşiktaş’a bu sezon başında İngiltere Premier Lig ekibi Everton’dan transfer olan Tosun, 26 maçta süre alırken 13 gol ve 3 asist kaydetti.
Tosun, Beşiktaş’ta 3 Süper Lig ve 1 Türkiye Kupası kazandı. Golcü oyuncu siyah-beyazlı takımda 172 maça çıkarken, 80 gol atıp 17 asist yaptı.
