Irak Başbakanı Sudani: Türk yatırımcılarla ciddi projeleri hayata geçirme arzusundayız
Irak Başbakanı Muhammed Şiya es-Sudani, Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan ile Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyesi’nde düzenlenen görüşmenin ardından ortak basın toplantısında konuştu.
Şu an Irak’ta faaliyet gösteren aktif şirketler olduğuna değinen Sudani, Basra’da bir hastane açılışına katıldığını, bunun sadece hastane olmadığını ve şehir hastanesi denebileceğini söyledi.
Sudani, bu hastaneyi bir Türk şirketinin yaptığını, aynı şekilde yakın zamanda da başka bir hastanenin bu şekilde tamamlanacağını ve açılışının yapılacağını belirtti.
Sudani, “Bizler tüm (Türk) kardeşlerimiz, iş adamlarıyla ve yatırımcılarla ciddi projeleri hayata geçirme arzusundayız. Yarın burada birçok iş adamı ve yatırımcıyla bir araya geleceğim. Orada da çok net bir şekilde bu konuları ifade edeceğim” diye konuştu.

Sudani, Irak’ın içinde bulunduğu su sorunun çözümüne yönelik Türkiye’nin bir ay boyunca buradaki su miktarını artırma kararına ilişkin “(Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan’a) Irak hükümeti ve halkı adına su sorununun çözümüne yönelik talimatlarınızdan dolayı müteşekkiriz” ifadesini kullandı.
Bölgede ciddi bir su sıkıntısı bulunduğunun altını çizen Sudani, Irak’ın orta ve güney bölgelerine su gitmesi konusunda problem olduğunu aktardı.
Sudani, Bağdat’taki Su Kaynakları Merkezi’nin Türk yetkililerle bir araya gelerek konuyu teknik ve bilimsel anlamda ele alıp, ortak çalışmayla çözüm bulacağına inandığını dile getirdi.

Al-Kadhimi underlined the potential of other sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, and infrastructure to generate income and create job opportunities for Iraqis.
Al-Kadhimi also acknowledged the challenges facing Turkish investors in Iraq, including bureaucratic hurdles, security risks, and legal complexities. He pledged to address these issues and provide a conducive environment for Turkish businesses to operate and thrive in Iraq. He called on Turkish companies to explore investment opportunities and participate in tenders for various projects in Iraq, including construction of highways, bridges, airports, hospitals, and housing.
The Turkish delegation, led by the Chairman of the Turkish-Iraqi Business Council, Tamer Taskın, expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi government and private sector in implementing joint projects that serve the interests of both countries. They noted that Turkish companies have extensive experience and expertise in various fields and can contribute to the development of Iraq’s economy and infrastructure.
The Turkish businessmen also highlighted the strategic importance of Iraq for Turkey and emphasized the need to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries. They cited the success stories of some Turkish companies operating in Iraq despite the challenges and expressed their confidence in the potential of the Iraqi market.
The meeting was part of a series of talks between the two countries aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and boosting trade and investment. Iraq is Turkey’s second-largest export market after Germany, with the volume of trade between the two countries reaching $20 billion in 2019. Turkish companies have invested in various sectors in Iraq, including construction, energy, telecommunications, and banking.
The Iraqi prime minister’s initiative to engage with Turkish investors reflects his government’s commitment to promoting a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment to support economic growth and development.
