İsrail polisi, baskın süresince Yahudi yerleşimcileri korumaya alırken, Kıble Mescidi etrafında konuşlanmaya başladı, içeride bulunan Filistinlilerin dışarıya çıkmasına müsaade etmedi.

İsrail polisi, bugün erken saatlerde sabah namazı için Mescid-i Aksa’ya gelmeye çalışan Filistinli gençlere müdahale ederek, girişlerine izin vermemişti. İçeri alınmayan Filistinliler, Mescid-i Aksa çevresinde sabah namazı kılmıştı.

İsrail polisinin iki gece üst üste Mescid-i Aksa’daki Müslümanlara orantısız güç kullanarak ses bombası, kauçuk kaplı mermi ve coplarla müdahale etmesi, işgal altındaki Doğu Kudüs’te gerilimi tırmandırmış, Batı Şeria’da da tansiyonu yükseltmişti.

Hamursuz Bayramı sırasında Aksa’ya baskın çağrıları

Fanatik Yahudiler, 5-13 Nisan’daki Hamursuz (Pesah) Bayramı sırasında Aksa’ya yönelik baskın çağrılarını artırmıştı.

Hamursuz Bayramı döneminde baskın bekleyen Filistinliler ise ramazan ayında Müslümanlara Mescid-i Aksa’da itikaf çağrısında bulunmuştu.

Fanatik Yahudi 15 haham da İsrail Başbakanı Binyamin Netanyahu ve Ulusal Güvenlik Bakanı Itamar Ben-Gvir’e mektup yazmıştı.

Mektupta, Netanyahu ve Ben-Gvir’den Yahudi yerleşimcilerin Hamursuz Bayramı’nda Mescid-i Aksa’da kurban kesmeleri için izin verilmesini isteyen hahamlar, kurban kesmeyi başaranlara 5 bin 500 dolar değerinde ödül verilmesini önermişti.

The Israeli police and their role in supporting the raids of extremist Jewish settlers have recently come under scrutiny. The Israeli government must also take responsibility for these actions and hold those responsible for aiding and abetting these extremist attacks accountable. There must be consequences for those who participate in these raids, from the settlers themselves to the police officers who ignore them.

It is not enough for the Israeli government to simply condemn these actions; they must take meaningful action to protect Palestinian citizens and prevent future raids from occurring. Only then can there be any hope of achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
