Kanada, sahte belgelerle ülkeye gelen yüzlerce Hindistanlı öğrenciyi sınır dışı ediyor
Ulusal basında yer alan haberlere göre, Kanada yönetimi, haklarında işlem başlatılan öğrencilerden şu ana kadar 150’den fazlasını sınır dışı etti.
Kanada Sınır Hizmetleri Ajansı Sözcüsü Jacqueline Roby, sahte belgelerle okul kaydı yaptıran Hint öğrenciler hakkında soruşturma yürütüldüğünü söyledi.
Roby, “Kendilerini yanlış tanıtan ve Kanada’ya giriş yapmak veya ülkede kalmak için sahte belgeler kullanan kişiler Kanada’dan çıkarılma riskiyle karşı karşıyadır. Ajans, Kanada’da yasal olarak kalma hakkı olmayan kişileri mümkün olan en kısa sürede sınır dışı etmek için yasal bir yükümlülüğü vardır.” ifadelerini kullandı.
Kanada nüfusu 1 yılda 1 milyon kişi arttı
Bu arada Kanada İstatistik Kurumu, ülke nüfusunun 2022 yılında 1 milyon kişiden fazla arttığını duyurdu.
Kurumdan yapılan açıklamada bunun, “ülke tarihinde 1 yılda kaydedilen en yüksek nüfus artışı” olduğu belirtilirken, bu artışın en büyük kaynağının göçmenlik sistemi olduğu kaydedildi.
Açıklamada, Kanada nüfusunun 2022’de 1 milyon 50 bin 110 kişi arttığı, bu artışın 607 bin 782’sini ülkeye gelen göçmen ve mültecilerden oluştuğu bildirildi.
Kanada göçmenlik yasalarına tabii olarak gelen 750 binin üzerindeki uluslararası öğrenci, ülkedeki üniversite ve kolejlerde eğitim görüyor.
Kanada yasaları, uluslararası öğrenci statüsünde olanlara, eğitimleri sırasında haftada 25 saat çalışma izni verirken, eğitimlerinin ardından da kalıcı oturum iznine başvuru imkanı tanıyor.
