CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is also a presidential candidate, said during a public gathering in the Cumhuriyet Square of Ordu that he will work to bring Turkey to modern civilization until the end of his life. Kılıçdaroğlu expressed that it is up to the youth to change the fate of Turkey, and he puts all of his hopes in the first-time voters. He invited the young people to vote for democracy, fair work, and the country’s benefit, and to change the authoritarian regime. Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the government’s agricultural policy during his speech by mentioning the importance of tea and hazelnut as a source of income in the Black Sea Region. Furthermore, he promised to pay for the labour of the hazelnut producers and provide them with fair returns. Kılıçdaroğl stated that we are the world’s number one hazelnut producing country, but the producers are not benefiting enough from it. He explained that the hazelnut business is being monopolized by a few companies, which is a mistake. Kılıçdaroğlu also said that all refugees, including the Syrian refugees, will return to their countries if elected and noted that Turkey is not a base for refugees. Finally, he expressed that he is an advocate of justice and fairness and will not tolerate corruption or malpractice.
