Marmara and Aegean regions are expected to experience strong southerly winds in the coming days, according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service. The service has issued a warning to residents and visitors, urging them to take necessary precautions to avoid any weather-related hazards.

The southerly winds, known as “lodos” in Turkish, are expected to reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour in the Marmara region and up to 60 kilometers per hour in the Aegean coast. The strong winds are expected to bring heavy rain to the area, increasing the risk of floods and landslides.

The warning highlights the potential dangers of strong winds, such as fallen trees and power lines, damaged buildings, and transportation disruptions. People are advised to avoid outdoor activities, especially near coastal areas, and take necessary precautions if they must go outside.

The warning also urges people to prepare their homes for the upcoming weather conditions. They should secure outdoor items such as chairs, tables, and garden equipment to prevent them from being blown away by the gusty winds. People living in low-lying areas should also be prepared for possible flooding and take necessary precautions to protect their homes and families.

Residents and tourists planning to travel to the affected regions are also advised to check weather reports and road conditions before heading out. They should also avoid traveling by boat during this time, as the strong winds and high waves could make it dangerous.

In summary, the warning from the Turkish State Meteorological Service is a call to action for residents, tourists, and officials to take necessary precautions to avoid weather-related hazards in the coming days. People are advised to stay informed, take necessary steps to secure their homes, avoid outdoor activities, and prepare for possible flooding. Stay safe, everyone.
