Martin Scorsese’nin merakla beklenen yeni filmi “Killers of the Flower Moon”, dünya prömiyerini 2023 Cannes Film Festivali’nde yapacak.
1920’lerin Oklahoma’sında geçen ve petrol zengini Osage Nation üyelerinin seri cinayetlerini konu alan destansı Apple Originals filminin ana rollerinde Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion ve Tantoo Cardinal yer alıyor. Tüm bu isimlerin Scorsese ile birlikte 20 Mayıs’taki Cannes galasına katılması bekleniyor.
“Killers of the Flower Moon”, 1986’da Scorsese’ye en iyi yönetmen ödülünü kazandıran “After Hours”tan bu yana Cannes resmi seçkisinde yer alan ilk Scorsese filmi olacak. Daha öncesinde, 1976’da “Taxi Driver” en iyi film dalında Altın Palmiye kazanmıştı ve usta yönetmen 1998’de Cannes jürisinin başkanlığını yapmıştı.
Cannes organizatörleri, “Killers of the Flower Moon”un 76. festivalde yarışmaya girip girmeyeceğini açıklamadı. Filmin hangi bölümde gösterileceği, Nisan ayının ortalarında düzenlenen basın toplantısında tüm festival programı duyurulduğunda ortaya çıkacak.
Bu yıl Cannes’da prömiyer yapacak diğer filmler arasında “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, Wes Anderson imzalı “Asteroid City” ve Hirokazu Kore-eda imzalı “Monster” yer alıyor.
