Polonya nükleer santrallerden ilk enerji akışının 2033’te gerçekleşmesini planlıyor

Moskwa, “Super Express” gazetesine yaptığı açıklamada, ülkede kurulacak ilk nükleer santral için Çevresel Etki Değerlendirmesi (ÇED) onayının yakın zamanda alınacağını ifade etti.

Estonya ve Letonya ile güvenliğe ilişkin konuları görüştüklerini aktaran Moskwa, “İki nükleer santral inşa etmeyi planlıyoruz. İlk nükleer enerjiden 2033 itibarıyla faydalanmak istiyoruz.” ifadesini kullandı.

Polonya hükümeti, Kasım 2022’de “Nükleer Enerji Programı” kapsamındaki ilk santralin teknolojisinin Westinghouse tarafından sağlanmasına karar vermişti.

İlk nükleer santralin inşasına 2026’da başlanması planlanıyor.

Polonya hükümetinin enerji stratejisi kapsamında ülkede toplam kapasitesi 6 ila 9 gigavat olacak 6 nükleer güç ünitesi inşa edilecek.

Polonya is set to receive its first dose of energy from nuclear power plants in 2033, according to the country’s Energy Minister, Krzysztof Tchorzewski. This announcement marks a significant step in Poland’s efforts to reduce its dependence on coal and shift towards renewable energy sources.

Poland’s history with coal dates back to the 19th century, and the country has long relied on this fossil fuel to power its economy. However, as concerns over climate change and air pollution have grown, Poland has been under increasing pressure to shift towards cleaner energy alternatives.

As part of this effort, the Polish government has announced plans to build two nuclear power plants in the country, with a combined capacity of up to 6 GW. The first of these plants is expected to start operating in 2033, while the second is scheduled to begin producing energy in 2034.

The nuclear power plants have been controversial in Poland, with critics citing safety concerns and the high cost of building and maintaining the facilities. However, supporters argue that nuclear power is a crucial component of Poland’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and that the long-term benefits of nuclear power outweigh the risks.

Nuclear power is a clean, reliable, and efficient source of energy that has the potential to provide a significant portion of Poland’s electricity needs. With the right safety measures in place, nuclear power can be a safe and sustainable solution for meeting the country’s energy demands.

In addition to nuclear power, Poland is also investing in renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. The country has set a target of generating at least 23% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030, up from just 11% in 2018.

Overall, Poland’s efforts to transition towards cleaner energy sources are an encouraging sign for the future of the country and the planet as a whole. By reducing its reliance on coal and expanding its use of nuclear and renewable energy, Poland can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
