Sudan resmi haber ajansının (SUNA) haberine göre, Bölge Başkanı Ahmed el-Umde Badi, acil durumu 30 gün daha uzatan bir kararname yayımladı.
Kabile çatışmalarını protesto edenler, 13 Ekim 2022’de valilik binasını ateşe vermiş, kabile çatışmalarını kontrol altına alamaması nedeniyle Badi’nin görevden alınmasını talep etmişti.
Bölgesel hükümet, 21 Ekim 2022’de Mavi Nil’de yaşanan kabile çatışmaları sebebiyle bir ay süreyle “acil durum” ilan etmiş, bölgede gece dışarı çıkma yasağı getirmişti. Acil durum, o tarihten bu yana her ay yenilenmişti.
Birleşmiş Milletler, Sudan’ın güneydoğusundaki bu kabile çatışmaları sonucunda 31 binden fazla bölge sakininin evlerini terk etmek zorunda kaldığını bildirmişti.
